The National Weather Service says snow and blowing snow, which could accumulate to 3 inches or more, will make driving dangerous tonight.

There will be treacherous road conditions as temperatures drop into the 20s and slush begins to freeze.

Traveling soccer available in Shakopee

The Shakopee Soccer Association is now accepting registrations for the Spring/Summer 2007 traveling season.

This is a competitive league designed to teach individual and team skills and competitive play. Games are held on weeknights – Monday through Thursday – usually two games per week from May to mid-July.

Saber girls fall in title game

The Shakopee Sabers lost to a tough Irondale team 5-1 in the championship of the girls' hockey Schwan Cup White Division Friday afternoon at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.

The Sabers fell behind 3-0 in the first period, and trailed 4-0 after two periods. The Sabers and Irondale tradded goals in the third period for the final margin.



Boys hockey alumni game scheduled for tonight

Come watch your favorite past player as any current Shakopee hockey youth player wearing his or her jersey will be admitted free when accompanied by a paid adult.

House fire under investigation

The state fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of an early morning fire that destroyed an empty home at 505 Sommerville St. on Thursday.

Shakopee Fire Chief Ed Schwaesdall said a passerby noticed the vacant home was on fire and called authorities at 1:16 a.m.
