Man guilty of providing alcohol that led to teen's death

It was the early morning of Feb. 25, just over a year ago, that Sean Humphrey was found lying intoxicated and unconscious, partially frozen to the pavement of Geske Road.

Humphrey, 19, who had been at a Chaska party earlier in the evening, was brought to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died.

Four people were later charged with crimes in connection with Humphrey’s death.

The Shakopee Sabers got back on the winning track with a convincing 75-53 win Thursday night at Hutchinson in a MIssota Conference boys basketball game.

D J Killeen led The Sabers with 24 points. He added five rebounds, and helped hold Hutchinson’s leading scorer to 8 points.

One person was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash this afternoon on icy Highway 169 in Shakopee.

Michah R. Gurgel, 30, of Jordan, was killed, according to the State Patrol.

A rowdy fan was tackled by the Shakopee High School activities director during a boys basketball game in Shakopee Tuesday after a Prior Lake High School student ran onto the court and interrupted a free throw.



Authorities seek help finding road-rage suspect

A 34-year-old Prior Lake woman became a victim of road rage near Highway 169 just north of Highway41 in Jackson Township after inadvertently cutting off a man in a pickup truck while making a U-turn around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The State Patrol was on the scene of a fatal crash that occurred about 3:23 p.m. today on southbound Highway 169 and Marystown Road (County Road 15).

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on crash, according to the State Patrol. No other information was immediately available.
