Pro Pink wins Hoist Her Flag Stakes

Pro Pink, ridden by Derek Bell and trained by Mac Robertson, won the $50,000 Hoist Her Flag Stakes by a nose for owner Joseph Novogratz of Eden Prairie on Saturday at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. The field of six fillies and mares included four that were shipping in from racetracks throughout the Midwest.

The locally based Pro Pink, sent to post as the second wagering choice at 2-1 odds, broke well from the starting gate and assumed the early lead.

Aspen Classical Academy, a brand new charter school, now has a location and a director.

Gregus to be honored by USA Hockey

Gary Gregus will be honored for his contributions to USA Hockey's coaching education programs.

The others from the state include Natalie Darwitz of Eagan, for excellence in international competition; Jack Connolly of Duluth, junior player of the year; Dr. Michael Stuart of Rochester, chief medical officer for USA Hockey.
