In game that was supposed to take place on May 29, the Shakopee Indians will play the Chaska Cubs tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Joe Schleper Stadium.

The filing period for federal, state, judicial and some locally elected offices begins Tuesday.

Candidates may file July 1 until 5 pm. July 15. The last day for withdrawal is July 17.

The place for filing for federal office is at the Minnesota Secretary
of State’s Office in St. Paul. Those seeking election to state office
may file in the county they live in.

Mary Thomas, 68, of Perham, Minn. and formerly of Shakopee, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, of pancreatic cancer.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 3, beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, at the church, from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral.

Mary Ann Poole, 79, of Bigfork, Minn., died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Bigfork Hospital.

Services will be held at noon at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church in Bigfork on Monday, July 7. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
