Sociabull, a 4-year-old Minnesota-bred quarter horse, won the $22,100 Cash Caravan Stakes on Sunday at Canterbury Park in Shakopee.
Sociabull broke sharply from the inside post and held off a challenge by Okey Dokey Irish to win by a nose, covering the 440 yards in 22.411 seconds. Sociabull is owned by Jim Olson of Andover and is trained by Jerry Livingston. Leading jockey Ry Eikleberry rode the winner, who returned $13.60, $5.00, $3.20. This was Sociabull’s fifth win of the 2008 Canterbury season.
An armed man who robbed the Walgreens on the corner of County Road 42 and Highway 13 Sunday morning died as a result of injuries he received after he rolled his car during a high-speed chase on Highway 13 in Prior Lake, police said.
Rbu T. Henry-Bey, 54, of Apple Valley, was indentified as the robber.
Savage Police Chief Rodney Seurer estimated the incident happened at about 8:30 a.m.
The man told employees he had a gun.
Police said speeds reached 100 mph on the road, which has a speed limit of 45 mph.

When Martin Bracewell started writing "This Isn’t Normal," he wasn’t sure if it was a short story or a novel.
After all, he’d never taken any kind of writing class outside of college prep English and had no formal training. But he knew he wanted to write something that showed the Hollywood version of sexuality in the 1960s didn’t exist and would give today’s teenagers something to think about.
The nine-race program at Canterbury Park in Shakopee on Saturday featured two $40,000 stakes races for 3-year-olds. The Minnesota Thoroughbred Association Stallion Auction Lassie and Laddie were both conducted at six- and one-half furlongs on the fast main track. Favorites dominated both events as Bump’ndazzle won the Lassie and Hesablumin won the Laddie.

Odds are good that John McCain will take the stage at the Republican National Convention next week wearing a traditional suit and tie.
But Victoria resident Bob Truax wouldn’t be that shocked to see the presumptive Republican presidential nominee donning a pair of patriotic Zubaz.
The Shakopee Sabers football team is 1-0 on the season after defeating host St. Paul Central 22-12 on Friday night.
The win stops a 12-game losing streak for the Sabers.
The visiting Shakopee Sabers led St. Paul Central 6-0 at halftime tonight.
Zack McBeain ran for a 9-yard touchdown at 3:58 of the second quarter.
