The Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Community is installing a 32,648-square-foot green roof atop its second sheet of ice at Dakotah Sport and Fitness. The new ice arena is scheduled to open in mid-October.

Brody (Bermel) Roehlke will face charges of second- and third-degree murder. According to a press release from Carver County Attorney Jim Keeler, amended charges were filed in Carver County District Court on Tuesday.
Roehlke, 16, of Chaska, was charged with first- and second-degree assault on Aug. 8 after an alleged altercation with his mother’s fiancé Kirk Anderson on Aug. 6. The altercation resulted in Anderson being transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) in Minneapolis with head injuries. Anderson died at HCMC on Aug. 9.
Bob Adamek of Elko is the 2008 Scott Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Outstanding Conservationist of the Year. His concern for the environment is evident AND everywhere on his 95-acre farmstead in Cedar Lake Township.
