Good news: The National Weather Service office in Chanhassen has canceled the winter storm watch here for Monday night.

Strong low pressure will lift north across eastern Minnesota Monday night into Tuesday. A period or rain and snow is expected to affect east-central Minnesota during this period, but it appears total snowfall amounts will remain less than 6 inches through Tuesday.

Earlier, the weather service predicted 6 inches of snow for the Scott County area.

District Court Judge Mary Theisen advised jurors in the Craigslist murder trial that they could expect to start deliberations sometime mid-week.

HINCKLEY, Minn. – Tony Bonsante of Shakopee announced his retirement from boxing Saturday night after his third-round TKO loss to Andy Kolle of Fergus Falls at Grand Casino in Hinckley.

Kolle, at 160 pounds, took the Minnesota middleweight title from Bonsante (159 pounds) with the win in the scheduled 10-round fight.
