After months of anticipation, the general election for the next President of the United States is less than three weeks away. I, like most I assume, will be glad to have the non-stop campaigning, the endless negative ads, the media "spin"…all of that tucked safely behind us.
Question: Everyone has the "Right to Vote"…but does that mean that everyone should?
Established in 1990, "Rock The Vote" is one of the most popular and widely recognized vehicles aimed at the "younger voter"; targeting them to register and to vote.
First off, let me say resoundingly that this is not my official foray into the political fray. My inspiration for the blog was derived from drive-time morning radio, and specifically the following song played.
There have been plenty of special dates in my life:
1. August 14, 1981 – My first "real kiss" with Sheri Stadtlander
2. March 29, 1993 – The birth of my first child
3. July 25, 2005 – My first hot-air balloon ride
Add the following to the laundry list of days to celebrate and remember:
March 5, 2008: Green Bay Packer QB Brett Favre announces his retirement from football!
Finally…a chance for all of us Cheddarhead haters to rejoice!! Our arch nemesis has thrown in the towel. Oh, Happy Day!!...or IS it?
I’m here to write about something sensitive...something everyone can (or should) openly admit to partaking in as a guilty pleasure.
"Reading and (attempting to) decipher VANITY license plates". Admit, you do!
I DO, and for this reason, I have personalized {{sigh, yes vanity}} plates on both of my vehicles.
One of them SEEMS pretty straight forward: 1HIT1DR
Naturally, it stands for "One-Hit Wonder" (musical artist "one-off" reference)
Popular music has a knack for engraining itself in the sub conscious, forever associated with a particular time, place and experience. My music library is littered with "like" songs, each carrying a story unto itself, immediately catapulting me back in time to some "special time".
Everyone has 'em…first love, getting into trouble at East Park (oh, that's just me?), the song you first slow danced to…or in my case, my first slow skate.
Unfortunately, the experience is not right out of the pages of a harlequin romance. Nay!
