Let's call this Mauer week.

He didn't get so far in the Home Run Derby last night, losing to Pujols in a swing off, but Joe Mauer is drawing some heavy national media attention. Kind of like the attention he draws daily here at home.

After next week, I can officially be called a die-hard Twins fan.

My mom, sister and I are headed to Milwaukee Tuesday to cheer on the Minnesota Twins against the Brewers at Miller Park.

Cheering for the Twins on television or in the Dome is one thing, but to follow a team 300-plus miles just to applaud them on from the visitor’s side of the field is pretty hard core. Well, at least, I’d like to think so.

Ever been to a baseball game? They are notoriously slow.

But that's OK qith me. I love baseball and appreciate the leisurely pace of a game, especially if I'm home doing errands around the house at the same time. Baseball games are slow, but that's part of their charm.
