Friday brought a visit by John McCain to nearby Lakeville and this video of Shakopee resident Gayle Quinnell asking Senator McCain about Barack Obama being an Arab.

Read the full transcript following the initial question here where the video team pressed Quinnell for information on where she supposedly received this information. Her answer, the Shakopee Public Library.

Are statements like this influencing your upcoming vote?

Bill Clinton has closer associations with the IRA ever since he invited Gerry Adams, one of the leaders of the IRA to the United States for peace talks.

In regards to Gayle Quinnel's comments about Senator Obama. Barack Hussein Obama is not an Arab or a muslim. His religion is Black Liberation Theology. This religion emphasizes a dislike for white people, unless you are a dupe for their cause and it declares that the U.S. is evil. Barack's minister, Jeremiah Wright, is a racist that hates whitey and this is evidenced by his preachings from the pulpit. This is why I cannot bring myself to vote for Obama.

kidjon couldn't be more wrong. Obama is now and has been a member of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ for what Obama himself describes as nearly 20 years. But if you want to make your decision on who to vote for based on an outright lie about his religion, please do some serious, non-partisan fact-checking beforehand.

bsorenson,

Kidjon is correct about Jeremiah Wright. Have you even checked out your "facts" further. You only use on bias resource. Senator Obama, was not even a regular attendee by his own admission. Jeremiah Wright is a racist (yes, racism can occur against non-blacks) and the Trinity United Church of Christ is exactly what kidjon says it is. It is BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY, the sign just doesn't say so. Jeremiah Wright is no longer with the church, but his legacy lives on, Otis Moss is the current lead pastor.

From their website (www.tocc.org)...under their history

Our History

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

Kidjon and justmeagain are both correct about Black Liberation Theology and Obama. That's the crap that Rev Wright believes and what made him spew his hate for whitey all those years that Obama sat in the pews of Wrights church. Just google it. It's very disturbing. Whitey is to blame for everything from HIV to keeping the black man down.

When I clicked on tocc.org, I didn't find much about any particular church but some great information about outrigger canoeing. Maybe that's just what this country needs to promote unity.

WOW, bsorenson,

Can you not just do a little research so sorry I was off ONE LETTER the site is www.tucc.org But instead, you want to be so blind that their is racism coming from the other side of the proverbial coin.

Again..do a little research from the source. Trinity United Church in Christ (www.tucc.org). Enter site and then look under ABOUT US (left handside)...History and then a the bottom of that page use the link labeled "Click HERE to learn more about the Black Value System".

The current pastor does not seem as controversial as Rev. Wright, but Rev. Wright is still connected with the church. Nothing wrong about being proud of your heritage, but remember everyone's heritage is just as equal to yours.
