Jimmy Johns

This is rant on the newest chain restaurant in Shakopee. I love Jimmy John's sandwiches, and love the fact that the deliver. HOWEVER, the only problem that is stopping me from ever ordering or stopping in to place an order is the LIMITED DELIVERY area that the Shakopee store has. This Jimmy Johns will not deliver west of Adams or north of 4th (not sure how far out east and south they will go). This will limit their summer business with all the teens and preteens home in summer and are hungry...won't deliver to the bulk of Shakopee. I can understand not having a huge delivery area, but would you try to at least match the pizza delivery area? Imagine the profits that would have been made if the delivery area was just a mile bigger in all directions? Will wait to see how it goes.

Hmmm ... that's surprising! Maybe they will change their minds when they get complaints and people realize this and complain.

I ate there for the first time tonight. Yumm! The sandwhich I had was really great!

The subs are good... the bread is great... the delivery area is terrible. We were told the delivery area is 17th Ave. to the South, Canterbury Rd to the East and 4th Ave. to the West. We have had subs delivered to our workplace (4th/Holmes) at least twice and when we called tonight, they would not deliver to us. We even called back and spoke with the manager and he said he would not deliver. We told him we would commit to ordering at least once a week but that did not sway him to drive the extra 20 feet across the intersection (outside of the delivery area) to make the sale. Oh well, I guess I won't drive the extra 20 feet across the parking lot to stop in the new sub shop in town.

All Jimmy John's locations have a small delivery radius. That's how they do quick delivery times. Remember, they usually open near a big location (such as a college campus) where they expect most of their business to go.

The bean sprouts make it worth a short drive, I think.

Pick me up, Joanna. You fly, I buy. Bean sprouts, fresh bread and a full moon. What else is there?
