Yeah! Used ice skates
February 7, 2007 - 2:21am — sfiecke
So I have a few girlfriends that love to go ice skating. I thought it'd be fun to get them all together for an outing now that it's plenty cold. Trouble is I haven't ice skated since I was a kid and many rinks don't offer skate rentals. I remember as a child my mom purchased us skates at garage sales or got them used somewhere. Other than going to Wal-Mart I couldn't think of where I could go as an adult to buy skates. And I certainly don't want to spend a lot of money on them because I don't imagine I'll be using them much. So the best bet would be to get used skates, but where could they be purchased? I really doubted that in today's throw-away society people could even purchase used skates, except maybe on EBay. Thinking I might have to make a trip to St. Paul or Mpls to find a skate shop, my answer came tonight as I drove past the Valley Sports store in downtown Shakopee on my way home from a city council meeting. A sign said ice skates for sale-used and new. Who would have known a little store in Shakopee would have just the thing I needed? It will save me much time and gas. Does anyone know of any other places in the area to purchased used ice skates?
