The All Star Game is tonight at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. It features three Minnesota Twins - Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Joe Nathan. Will you be watching?
Really appreciated Morneau's ability to get into nearly every shot of the American League dugout. That guy might have a future film career as an extra .
Also, appreciated the President's joke about not having enough money to bail the National League out of its slump. The poor league is 12-0-1 against the American League over the last 13 years. But I've always got to root for the Americanas. Who knows when the Twins might need home field advantage in the World Series. Who am I kidding?
Lastly, slightly surprised the MVP award went to the Rays' Carl Crawford. He made a great catch, but I thought hitting the winning run should give you some clout. Sorry, Adam Jones. Glad the Twins didn't make blunders of themselves. Mauer's first at-bat was questionable. (Come on, Punto hits it farther than that.) But he made it up with an RBI hit. Nathan got out of his jam. (He likes to make it interesting and S-L-O-W.) And Morneau? Well, he looked very pretty in all those dugout shots.
Good game all around. Even better cause it was only 2 hours, 31 minutes.
