I'm sure I'm dating myself with the post, as it's been several months since I'd been to the Shakopee Wal-Mart, but I sure was in for a happy surprise when I stopped there last week for an eye exam. Aunt Annie's has replaced what used to be a McDonald's. Hurrah!! I LUV their pretzels and the only other places they sell them at in the Twin Cities are malls (including the Eden Prairie Center).
I was chatting with an employee at Wal-Mart about it, and she agreed Aunt Annie's is great for customers, but said employees have missed the larger array of food they could get from McDonald's during their breaks. However, in addition to Aunt Annie's pretzels, they are also selling smoothies and sandwich wraps there. I ordered a berry smoothie, I believe, which was good, but overpriced. (Wouldn't have purchased it if I would have known it would be $5.)
According to its Web site, Aunt Annie's is also at three other Wal-Marts in the state: Red Wing, Cambridge and Buffalo.
This must be a great boon for Wal-Mart. I know I, for one, will be stopping there now just because I have a craving for a soft yummy pretzel.
