Hello Sfiecke!

Yes, I am a volunteer with the Minnesota Ron Paul for President Campaign. Locally, we have a meetup.com group located in Chaska. There are several more thoughout Minnesota. We are doing many outreach activities to help get Ron Paul as much support as possible for our local GOP caucuses on Feb 5th. I am personally a long time fan of Ron Paul and was very happy to see him running for president. He is in his 10th term in congress and is unmatched with his consistancy, honesty, and integrity. I strongly believe in his foreign policy of peace, strong support of civil liberties, and tax cuts.

There's a lot to like about

There's a lot to like about Ron Paul and I totally agree we had no right going into Iraq and anyone with any grasp of Middle East issues could have predicted what has happened, BUT the nagging question I have is now that we've screwed the country over, how can we just pull out? Obviously, no one has a crystal ball. Perhaps it will be worse if we stay because we're just fueling more terrorism. But what will happen to fill the power void if we leave? If Iraqis hate us know for what we've done to their country, what will they think if there is even more death and massacres in our absence? Ron Paul does make a good point though about how the same people who said it would be a cakewalk going into Iraq are the same people predicting terrible doom if we pull out.

On the whole terrorism thing, shakopee11 is right. We are so unsecure at home. People known to have terrorist ties cross the Canadian border regularily into our country- - and those are people that border guards identify coming in, but can't stop them from crossing. Can you imagine how many could be coming in illegally across our northern border or through the very porous Mexican border? Or with valid visas from other countries?

I think we should focus on strengthening our home defense, and being more careful about whom we let into this country. I think getting into other countries' business just escalates the terrorism threat.

Our current foreign policy

Our current foreign policy seems to be attack and invade any weaker foreign nation that may contain Bin Laden's terrorists. This is the wrong strategy for many reasons. But to stay on topic, the war on terrorism is not a war against another nation. The enemy is a group of individuals who do not represent any nation or respect any borders. To bring justice to those individuals responsible for the 9/11 attack, Ron Paul proposed the "Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001".
US Border security is very weak. Terrorists could easily enter our country and attack us at home. Ron Paul wants very strong border security.
Our current policies of waging overseas wars and having weak borders will only make it easier for the terrorists.
President Ron Paul will take the correct steps to keep our nation safe.

Ron Paul would be a good

Ron Paul would be a good President if he had a different take on the Iraq war. I would vote for him, but a President putting his head in the sand about terrorism, would only lead to another 9/11. If Ron Paul came out and pledged to go after terrorists and the countries that harbor them, I would vote for him, despite having 2 first names. But the terrorism issue is the biggest threat to our nation right now and to ignore it is very dangerous to our freedom.
