If this anti tobacco push across this countery was about health, cigarettes would have been made illegal. However, it is about money. Money for government and lawyers. Practicing the motto, "Follow the money", really brings many topics into perspective. If government made tobacco illegal, they would no longer get tax money. So, to obtain more money, which is dove tailed with more power, they demonize tobacco companies and tobacco users in an effort to make more restrictive laws regarding tobacco. It is all pathological.

How dare these people defy government officials. That should not be tolerated. Don't these rubes know what is good for them? Just ask the government officials, they know what is best for you. You better get in line or they will punish you. Don't you know they are just trying to protect you from yourself? Ungrateful rednecks, how dare they defy government. Drama over the statewide smoking ban spilled into Judge Jerome Abram’s Shakopee courtroom Tuesday with the first court hearing in Minnesota on the issue.

An Elko New Market bar faced the state in Scott County District Court, where attorneys debated whether "theater performance" smoking at Bullseye Saloon violates the state ban.
