Yeah casino shows are really weird with their seating and the crowds i've been to a few i just got some oasis tickets and think it may be in a similar type of venue.

On Sara Bareilles' Web site (the Mystic press release spelled her last name wrong, by the way), it says this:
"Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond Sara's control, she will no longer be performing at Mystic Lake Casino on August 26, 2008."
Hmmm...wonder what those circumstances were?

I've heard good things about this new Mystic venue, so I'm hoping it will be a good environment. I have noticed, though, that casino shows tend to be a little weird, because the audience doesn't usually get as excited. I don't think I'll ever understand how people can actually sit down at a rock concert!

Can't even imagine watching these bands at a venue like Mystic Lake...definitely the Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton sort of venue to me...

...now if they were at the Basilica Block Party...http://www.basilicablockparty.org/ ...that seems like a more appropriate spot. You know outside, downtown, drinkin a beer...by the church...okay maybe thats weird too, but the Basilica is still a great time...

Woo hoo! I just wish they would have added this date earlier, when the rest of the tour dates went on sale, so I wouldn't have ended up buying a ticket to see the show in Chicago and THEN learn they're coming to our own backyard. This, however, is one of, if not the only, indoor show on this tour. I think they added it late in the game because they wanted an MN show but there are no big outdoor amphitheaters here.

Oh, well. More fun (and less money) for me, I guess.

It sure would be nice, though, if tickets to this tour weren't sky-high. I think the tour organizers decided that because they have two (actually three, with opener Sara Bareilles) popular bands on the bill, it's worth $150. But honestly, Counting Crows just aren't really very popular anymore.

I know they just had an album out, but did anyone buy it? The last time I heard a good song from them was about 1995. Ouch, huh?

By the way, Sara B. is incredible and I'd highly recommend seeing her if you haven't, though this might not be the time if you're not big on Maroon 5 or Counting Crows. I think I paid $15 to see her at the Fine Line about a year ago.
