I agree, oldman. Usually the private sector does what it can to save money. Whenever govt makes promises, it usually doesn't come to fruition. Govt under delivers, over charges and takes longer than promised.

What is the cost to implement this law? If it was truly a $50M savings the industry would likely have implemented it a long time ago. You can bet that we will pay for the implementation and any other related costs with higher medical charges. What security measures have been mandated with this law to insure that the medical information of individuals is protected? I'd be willing to bet nothing was required. If the medical community's protection of our information is as messed up as their billing we're in trouble. Looks like we're headed for socialized medicine in Minnesota.

Health care providers in Minnesota must begin using electronic billing for health care claims on July
15 as part of a first-in-the-nation law that state officials say will help save millions of dollars in health care administrative costs each year.
