It was a pretty amazing storm to watch. I was at work for it sitting my the windows watching the sky change. Then lost power and I headed home to find that we lost 2 trees in our yard and 1 took out our swingset.

Heavy rains in the open

Heavy rains in the open windows in my living room in Prior Lake (stupid, stupid, stupid).

Ran home after the rain stopped in Shakopee and soaked up as much as I could with towels, then put the fans on it.

My couch also was wet and my wooden dining chairs had puddles on the seats, plus Sunday's newspapers were no longer on the coffee table but blown all about. The dogs were in kennels under the bedroom windows, but that side of the house wasn't nearly as wet so they fared well.

The lid to my neighbor's grill was in the street, so I walked it back home but I've got someone's grill cover still in my driveway.

Stereotyping allowed at

Stereotyping allowed at Shako High? Look at this picture, it is all stereotyping. You have someone with a big afro hair due giving the "black power" hand signal. What would happen if a white student gave a 'Heil Hitler" hand signal. Then, you have a student dressed as a "gang bangin" street thug flashing gang signs. Then, there is an Asian. Blacks and Asians are notorious for not getting along in inner cities. What the hell is going on in alma mater?

Where is this barn located? Growing up in Shakopee in the 70's and 80's, I never heard of this barn.

you're right, my head that night was pounding because the heat, the smell of heavy exhaust and the motor revving (as well as the very talkative announcer and the horrible sound system). and of course I had mud on me from the cars.

a little too loud though, wouldn't ya say? the hickishness was funny, and yes, somehow the destructiveness was spellbinding.

This last weekend at

This last weekend at the fair was the first time I'd ever been to a demolition derby. My brothers always went to such things, and, of course, tractor pulls. But I thought I would never enjoy those type of activities. I have to say, though, I had a blast watching the derby. There's something satisfying about watching vehicles tear into each other. I cheered on with the rest of them.

I am sorry I didn't have my act together to be in the crowd welcoming the soldiers back home. I missed a wonderful opportunity. Beyond that, thank you ever so much for your patriotism and sacrifices. Because of you, my life is for the better!

Welcome back to ALL! In

Welcome back to ALL! In particular ROBBIE DUKLET! What a warm & wonderful welcome by the Shakopee Police & Fire Departments. They provided a heart-warming escort into town for the returning soldiers from Memorial Park to the high school! The soldiers really appreciated the warm welcome. They sat on the edges of the car windows waving to everyone who paused to pay tribute. Thank you to all who paused, honked, waived & applauded in support. It was truly heart-warming!!

We are so happy you all came home safely!!!
Love, Lisa & Hunter :)
