How often did you happen to

How often did you happen to hear the legendary Bruce Springsteen's new work on radio anywhere? I had to actively seek out his music to find it and listen to it. It's no different for new artists in the rock genre. To reach out beyond the die-hard fans, these bands have to find new avenues to gain exposure to potential fans -- especially in an era where radio is nothing more than a stale-sounding iPod devoid of anyone willing to take a risk on something/someone unproven. Radio has managed to alienate at least my generation as well as a few others in the process. Where will the new 'classics' hail from when nobody new gets exposure or enough exposure to build an actual broad fan base?

I think it's awesome to be

I think it's awesome to be able to hear great new music on the ole tellie. These musicians got to get their music out there somehow, and millions of Americans sit rotting in front of the TV every night. It seems like a great promotional tool. Although when I hear artists that I love and respect on commercials I have to admit it is a tad bit disappointing.
