Adelaide Maureen Peterson

Adelaide Peterson, 76, of Greenbush, Minn., passed away peacefully surrounded by her extended family on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at St. Gertrude’s Health Care Center, Shakopee.

Adelaide was an avid reader, a loved and respected teacher and enjoyed traveling and her winter home in Clermont, Fla.

Adelaide Olstad was born in Marshall County, raised in Bemidji and settled near Grygla where she raised her family and later taught at Grygla High School.

Adelaide is preceded in death by her father, Paul M. Olstad, and her first husband, Johnny C. Lillevold.

Loved and forever missed by her husband of 23 years, Kenneth Peterson; mother, Sally Olstad; children, John Lillevold (Beth), Grant Lillevold (Kathy), Paul Lillevold (Dawn), and Dale Lillevold (Janet), Leslie Peterson, Mitchell Peterson, Kerry Peterson (Kathy), Laurie Herman (Wes), Carolynn Zehnder (Rich), Nancy Kasprowicz (Troy); 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings, Patricia (Fred Guyot), Paul Olstad Jr. (Sue),; aunts, Genevieve Jarshaw and Cora Olstad; many cousins, in-laws and friends.

Visitation was Sunday, April 27, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Jordan, and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.

A service celebrating Adelaide’s life was held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, at Hope Lutheran Church in Jordan. An interment service will be held in Grygla, Minn. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Masonic Cancer Fund or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Grygla.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of St. Francis Hospital, St. Gertrude’s Hospice and Emerald Crest for their concern and compassionate care for both Adelaide and her family.

God bless you, Adelaide. You will be greatly missed.

Robert H. Breeggemann

Robert “Bob” Breeggemann, 73, of Jordan, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 26, 2008.Robert BreeggemannRobert Breeggemann

Bob was born Nov. 6, 1934 to Frank and Dorothy (Grommesch) Breeggemann in Marystown. He married Deloris Hames on April 27, 1957 at the Church of the Visitation Catholic Church in Minneapolis.

Bob was an original member of the Jordan Alers baseball team and a member of the Marystown baseball team. He was a longtime farmer in Jordan, a former realtor for Sandey Real Estate and Jeff Hennen Real Estate. He enjoyed bowling in the couples league and loved to watch baseball, especially the Jordan Brewers.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 30, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Jordan, and also one hour prior the service at church on Thursday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan. Pallbearers will be Rick Breeggemann, Mike Breeggemann, Michael Breeggemann, Danny Breeggemann, Jacob Breeggemann, Dylan Breeggemann, Hannah Breeggeman. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Jordan.

Loved and forever missed by his wife, Dellie Breeggemann; sons, Randy (Amy) Breeggemann, Fred (Sheri) Breeggemann, Kevin (Lisa) Breeggemann, Russ (Barb) Breeggemann, all of Jordan, Joel (Michael) Breeggemann of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Michael, Danny, Jacob, Dylan and Hannah Breeggemann; mother, Dorothy “Toots” Breeggemann of Marystown; brothers, Tom Breeggemann of Elmwood, Wis., Mike (Emma) Breeggemann of Liberty, Mo., Rick (Linda) Breeggemann of Marystown; sisters, Pat (Lee) Kness of Savage, Ruth Klehr of Jordan, Anne (Tom) Walerius of Plymouth, Sherry Poppler of Shakopee, Cindy (Mark) Soller of Jordan; brother-in-law, Bob Hames of Nimrod, Minn.

Luella T. Pauly

Luella Pauly, 85, of Jordan, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Friendship Manor Care Center in Shakopee.

Luella was born Sept. 28, 1922. Her parents were Albert and Cecelia (Klehr) Theis.

Luella married Quentin Pauly on Nov. 3, 1941 at Shieldsville, Minn. Quentin passed away on Dec. 19, 1963. Luella enjoyed playing cards, gardening and her flower gardens.

She is survived by children, Sally Ann Pauly of Jordan, Jerry (Ramona) Pauly of Jordan, Donald Pauly, Richard (Sharon) Pauly of Jordan, Sandra (Nathan) Wittenberg of Chaska; three grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Kay Theis of New Ulm, Mary Theis of Mankato.

Luella was preceded by her husband, Quentin Pauly; son, Roger Pauly; parents; sister, Marline (Wayne) Liffick; brothers, Elmer Thies, Eldren Theis, Roger Theis.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan.

Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, April 30, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan with Father Jon Shelley presiding. Interment will be at St. Joe’s Cemetery, in Jordan. Pallbearers included Jason Pauly, Travis Wittenberg, Tyler Wittenberg, Harlan Seigler, Francis Beuch and Bernie Pauly.

Loretta Wermerskirchen

She was born June 29, 1919 at Union Hill, Minn. Her parents were Joe and Rose (Schwingler) Nytes. Loretta married Melvin Wermerskirchen on Oct. 7, 1941 at Union Hill.

Loved and forever missed by daughters, Katie (Patrick) Sauer of Golden Valley, Patty Wermerskirchen of Brooklyn Park, Deb (Jim) Genellie of Hopkins, Gail (Mark) Kragthorpe of Jordan; daughter-in-law, Glenda Laffen of Jordan; son-in-law, Owen Kragthorpe of Jordan; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded by husband, Melvin Wermeskirchen; daughter, Diane Kragthorpe; son, Dave Wermerskirchen; parents; brothers, Leonard Nytes, Ted Nytes, Howard Nytes and Norbert Nytes; sisters, Lucy Karcewski and Roseann Shaughnessy.

Loretta was a member of the Christian Mothers Society and the Catholic Aid Association. She loved to spend time at the cabin with her family. She loved to fish, travel, garden and sew.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 29, from 9:30-11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. Father Timothy Yanta presided. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan. Pallbearers were Krista Majerus, Lisa Laughlin, Kelly Sauer, Molly Sauer, Heather Briese, Lindsay Jandl, Melissa Maschenik and Katie Genellie.

Sylvia R. Wellner

Sylvia Wellner, 70, of Shakopee, died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at North Ridge Care Center, New Hope, Minn.Sylvia WellnerSylvia Wellner

Sylvia was born in Jackson, Minn. on Feb. 11, 1938 to Raymond and Elnor (Becker) Johnson. She married William Wellner on June 6, 1958 in Jackson. Sylvia was a graduate of Jackson High School and Mankato State University. She was a retired teacher for the Shakopee Public Schools, where she taught social studies and was the speech coach.

Sylvia is survived by children, William Jr. (Gwen) Wellner of Andover, Mark Wellner and former wife, Jodi of North Mankato, Jill (Duane) Hanley of Lino Lakes; mother, Elnor Johnson of Moorhead; seven grandchildren, Sara, Alicia, Amanda, Meghan and W. Raymond Wellner, Alyssa and Eric Hanley; great-grandchild, Alexa Wellner; sisters, Kathy (Lamont) Hamre of Clive, Iowa, Judi (David) Workin of Fargo, Sue (Jerry) Rogers of Moorhead; brother, Kent (Cindi) Johnson of Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband and father.

Visitation is Friday, May 2, from 5-8 p.m. at the McNearney Funeral Home, 1220 East Third Avenue, Shakopee, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Funeral service is Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Cross of Peace Lutheran Church, Shakopee, with the Rev. Tom Reiner and Pastoral Intern Linda McPeak officiating. Graveside service is Saturday, May 3, at 2:30 p.m. at the New Ulm City Cemetery, New Ulm. Memorials are preferred to Cross of Peace Lutheran Church.

Della Mae Peik

Della Mae Peik, 92, of the Prior Lake area, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Community Assisted Living in Shakopee.

Della was born April 16, 1916 at Spring Lake Township, Minn. Her parents were Edward and Bertha (Borchardt) Hafermann.

Loved and forever missed by sons, Stan (Debbie) Schultz of Osage, Ivan (Deb) Schultz of Champlin; grandchildren, Jamie Schultz, Derek (Shauna) Schultz, Julie (Mike) Stella, Kate (Luke) Sawatsky, Jon Schultz; great-grandchildren, Casey and Carter Schultz.

Preceded by husbands, Leslie Schultz and George Peik; infant daughter, Lois Schultz; parents; sisters, Adeline Ward and Doris Klingberg.

Della was a longtime active member of Lydia Zion United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. Della moved off the farm and into Prior Lake on Oct. 31, 1979. She loved gardening, fishing and Minnesota Twins baseball.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 30, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake and also at the church one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Funeral service will be Thursday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Lydia. Pallbearers will be Jon Schultz, Derek Schultz, Luke Sawatsky, Mike Stella, David Schroeder, Kevin Schroeder. Jamie Schultz will be an honorary pallbearer. Interment will be at Concord Hill Cemetery.

Rev. Richard J. Larkin

The Rev. Richard Larkin, 86, of Shakopee, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.Rev. Richard LarkinRev. Richard Larkin

He was born in Barry, Minn. on Dec. 28, 1921, the son of Martin and Mary Jane (McCabe) Larkin. Father Larkin was ordained a Catholic priest on May 31, 1947. As a parish priest he served parishes at Ascension, St. Anthony of Padua, and Christ the King in Minneapolis; St. Joseph, Red Wing; Sacred Heart, Belle Plaine; Nativity of Mary, Bloomington and most recently at St. Mark’s in Shakopee. He served as a chaplain at Villa Maria Academy, Frontenac, and currently was the chaplain for the Father Lucian Galtier Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus of Shakopee, where he was a member as well.

He is survived by cousins, Sister Rose Marie Larkin OSB, Patricia Taffe-Driscoll (Bill), Kathleen Larkin-Reis (Ken) and several other cousins.

Visitation was Monday, April 28, from 4-8 p.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Shakopee.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, April 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church with Archbishop Harry J. Flynn the celebrant. The Rev. William F. Stolzman was the homilist. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Rein and Leon Hausladen. Pallbearers included Tim and Francis Larkin, ****** Stokes, LeRoy Bauer, Bob Klehr and ****** Wiggin. Interment at Catholic Cemetery, Shakopee.
