The Shakopee School Board will have two new faces around the board table come January.
Shakopee voters elected newcomers Carla Shutrop and Anthony Bonsante to four-year terms on the School Board Tuesday.
Incumbents Steve Schneider, Mary Romansky and Chuck Berg were also re-elected.
The School Board race had seven candidates vying for four four-year terms and one two-year term on the seven-member board.
Shutrop was the top vote-getter with 2,798 votes, or 20.9 percent.
Schneider and Romansky followed with 2,406 (18 percent) and 2,346 votes (17.5 percent), respectively. Bonsante was elected to his first term with 2,083 votes (15.6 percent).
Reggie Bowerman, who was appointed to the board in November 2008 to fill a seat vacated by Todd Anderson, did not garner enough votes to earn a spot on the School Board. He had 1,943 votes, 14.5 percent of the vote.
Newcomer Jeff Lebens finished with 1,763 votes, or 13 percent of the vote.
Incumbent Berg was also re-elected. Berg, 50, ran uncontested for the lone two-year seat.

Carla, Anthony,
My sincere congratulations.
I have only two requests for you: Please challenge the Status Quo and do not get complacent.
Ah, and I voted Yes for the sake of our kids, but please make sure we are not surprised by the same situation in a few years down the road.
I'd like to thank everyone...
