10th annual City to Country Tour is Sept. 20

» Read similar stories filed under:

The University of Minnesota Extension in Scott County will hold its 10th annual Scott County City to Country Tour on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s sites will be focusing on the Jordan/Belle Plaine area of Scott County.

This is a drive-it-yourself tour. Participants can start at any one of the four sites on the tour and continue at their own pace. The purpose of the event is to demonstrate the importance of agriculture and the rural character of Scott County.

Last year, more than 300 people attended the tour. The intent is that at each site, visitors will come away with a positive, lasting impression about agriculture in Scott County and Minnesota through demonstrations, hands-on activities and educational displays.

There is a new price for this year’s event: $12 per vehicle to tour all four sites for the whole day. The Extension Service encourages participants to carpool in the interest of the economy, the environment and community building.
