All Night Grad Party fund-raiser: Wine tasting
February 15, 2008 - 6:25am — Pat Minelli
Planning for the 2008 Shakopee All Night Graduation Party is in full swing, with its major fund-raiser planned Thursday, Feb. 21. The seventh annual Wine Tasting at Canterbury Park will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $14 in advance or $16 at the door. Included will be a silent auction with many gifts. Contact Brenda Lake at (952) 445-8998 for tickets to this event or stop by Crossroads Liquor to purchase tickets. Organizers say it costs about $30,000 to run the post-graduation party. To help pay for the party, organizers are asking area businesses and service organizations for cash donations, prizes and/or gift cards or services. Those interested in donating can contact Kevin Dahl at (952) 445-4473. Registration packets were mailed to the seniors this week. They also will be available on the school Web page. Those registering by April 11 will pay $75. Forms returned after that date will be charged $100. Anyone with questions regarding registration should contact Terri McKenzie at (952) 445-8356. Planning of the event requires numerous volunteers. Volunteers are needed in many areas, such as painting and assembling the decorations, fund-raising, set-up and cleanup before and after the party, security and supervision at the All Night Gradation Party. Anyone interested in helping or with questions about the event should contact general Chairs Kim and Ken Tieben at (952) 496-1351, or you can check the high school Web page for more information.
