A Shakopee man is among 16 contestants announced Wednesday for the latest "Project Runway" cable television program series, in which aspiring fashion designers square off to eventually determine a winner.
Christopher Straub, 30, is among the contestants in season six, which takes place in Los Angeles.
The latest series has been delayed by legal problems, but it was announced Wednesday that the new series will premiere Aug. 20 on the female-friendly Lifetime cable network.
The results of the program have already been determined, and the final program was actually taped in February. The dispute was between the cable networks Lifetime and Bravo, which originally aired the show, but it has now been settled.

Back to page topWow, this is really cool. I can't sew a stitch and have no fashion sense, but I love this show. I can't wait to follow Straub's performance! All you "Project Runway" followers are invited to share your thoughts on the show here.

He's self taught with no formal training so that should add an interesting element to the show. I like some of his designs, but I'll be curious to see how he fares with some of the challenges. Very exciting to have some locals on the show.

Back to page topI'd love to hear your take as the season goes on. His work reminds me of season 4's Christian Siriano but on Wal-Mart prices. I wasn't really a Siriano fan but that was probably because his personality grated with me. I got tired of the 'fierce's. Christopher sounds really upbeat and fun. It seems like he has a lot of personality, which is great to watch.
