The U.S. Census Bureau has selected Shakopee to be one of eight state offices charged with running the 2010 Census in Minnesota.
Candidates are being interviewed right now to manage the site, which will officially open on October 1, said Dennis Johnson, the Kansas City regional director for the U.S. Census Bureau.
The bureau has divided the state into eight districts roughly based on population, while also ensuring that there’s a headquarters located in each of the state’s congressional districts.
Find out where the bureau's office will be located and how many people will be employed in next Thursday's print edition of the Shakopee Valley News.
