The Scott County Meth Task Force was honored on May 23 by the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators (MAGC) with an award of merit for its work to educate citizens on the dangers of methamphetamine use and manufacture and to raise awareness about the opportunities for treatment and rehabilitation.
Michelle Jungels, Scott County communications coordinator, accepted the award on behalf of the task force. Scott County Commissioner Barbara Marschall, County Attorney Patrick Ciliberto, Public Services Manager Jennifer Deschaine, county attorney staff member Selina Kolsrud, and Public Affairs Coordinator Lisa Kohner were also in attendance.
“Michelle deserves the lion’s share of credit for helping communicate the task force’s mission, outstanding work to date, and demonstrated success,” said Ciliberto, who also co-chairs the task force with Marschall and county Sheriff Kevin Studnicka. “This recognition of the task force’s efforts is well-deserved, and I’m pleased and honored work with everyone who has been and continues to be a part of it.”
The award ceremony coincided with the release of the task force’s newest radio commercials (airing on KDWB 101.3) featuring Ciliberto, Studnicka, and “Tony,” the father of a local meth addict.
