A Shakopee man is accused of stabbing a man in the head several times last week in West Union, Iowa.
Castillo Luis Alber Gonzales, 48, is jailed in Fayette County on charges of attempted murder and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Fayette County sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call last Thursday evening of man who had been stabbed several times at a residence in West Union.
The male victim, whose name wasn't released, had stab wounds to the head area. He was taken to Palmer Lutheran Health Center and transferred to the trauma unit of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His condition was unavailable.
Gonzales fled in a vehicle before deputies arrived. They quickly located Gonzales in an automobile and arrested him.
Three other adult males were arrested at the residence as material witnesses and also taken to Fayette County Jail. Their names were not released.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. Gonzales is being held on $250,000 bond.
West Union is located about 90 miles southeast of Rochester, Minn.
