Shakopee was among the metropolitan-area leaders in residential building permits issued in June, and is the regional leader in the first six months of the year, according to the Builders Association of the Twin Cities.
For June, Maple Grove was the leader with 21, followed by Shakopee with 20, Woodbury (18), Blaine (17) and Lakeville (16). There were 238 new residential permits issued in the Twin Cities in June, compared to 289 in the same month last year. The June figure is the highest monthly total since last August.
For the year through June, Shakopee had issued 83 permits, followed by Maple Grove (75), Woodbury (75), Blaine (65) and Lakeville (54).
