Slumberland Furniture has opened a Shakopee store, the 111th for the company.
The 43,000-square-foot store and warehouse is located at 4100 Dean Lakes Blvd. next to Lowe’s Home Improvement store. The new store, which is managed by Paula Anderson, is expected to employ 20 people.
The store will celebrate a grand opening on Friday, April 25, which will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a gala featuring jazz music performed by the college group The Normandale Jazz Combo.
Slumberland will donate proceeds from the gala to the Enigma teen center in Shakopee.
Founded in 1967 in Richfield, Slumberland began as a mattress and La-Z-Boy specialty shop. Over the past 40 years, Slumberland has expanded to 111 stores across 10 states.
