Some local businesses will be closed Friday in honor of Independence Day, which is Saturday.

City of Shakopee and Scott County offices will be closed Friday, July 3 to observe the holiday. Shakopee Public Schools will also be closed. The Shakopee Public Library will be closed Friday and Saturday. The Shakopee Post Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. It will be closed Saturday.

While many retail, grocery and convenience stores will be open, some businesses will be closed Friday, including the Valley News. Most banks are also closed.
