3-6 inches of snow expected here
February 13, 2008 - 8:50am — Pat Minelli
The National Weather Service office in Chanhassen has issued a snow advisory for Scott County in effect from 6 p.m. today until 6 a.m. Thursday with 3 to 6 inches expected. The advisory affects central Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area, and western Wisconsin. Snowfall may be heavy at times north of the Interstate 94 corridor, primarily between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. in central Minnesota and 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. in west-central Wisconsin. The highest accumulations, between 5 and 6 inches, are expected along and north of a line from Little Falls to Cambridge in central Minnesota and along and north of the Highway 8 corridor in west central Wisconsin. The snow is expected to decrease in intensity in central Minnesota before daybreak Thursday and in western Wisconsin near daybreak. On Thursday, increasing northwest winds may lead to blowing snow. Continue to monitor the latest forecast for potentially more winter weather headlines during that time. A snow advisory means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. This includes along interstates 94, 35, and other major roadways in the metro area. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
