Okay, just a quick clarification: this blog post has nothing to do with losing weight, as there is a popular thread here about a weight loss competition. I was trying all last week to think of the most upsetting thing for me that other people do when I'm out in public and I finally figured out what it is.

About once a week or so, I like to stop at the McDonald's on Marshall Road for food. It's my treat to myself, and mostly each time I go in there it brings back memories of working there in high school and my first management experience. -So, besides all no-nutrient value this McDonald's may serve on a tray; I like to stop in there because it's a part of who I am.

Guitar Hero and Other Gimmicks

January 11, 2008 It seems like this week, I have heard more questions and comments about the popular video game "Guitar Hero". Which is strange, because Christmas is over and as a guitar teacher, I would expect more discussion on this several weeks ago. So why now? Maybe it's just my luck or purely coincidence. So, with this fresh on my mind, I'm just going to take a logical approach to this and explain myself on the subject.

It's late, and I was going to drag all my equipment into my room and set it up to jam, but I do that shit all the time. Not chill out in my room and practice by myself, but haul my guitar rig all over Hell between practice and teaching.

Avoiding Bad Karaoke

I don't know why, but there is something about being in a bar and watching people struggle at singing. Last night, I went out for bad karaoke, and it was actually turned out really good. It happened to be was invited by a friend to come out and hang out with the company running the karaoke, and maybe do some vocal coaching because they knew I was in a band and have a knowledge of music. So all night, I talked with the hosts and came up with some great pointers to help people at singing, especially karaoke.

Too Much Abuse...Save the Ellipses!

I can't explain it, but lately it seems like I have been reading a lot of people's blogs and I would like to take some time and write out two things I find really annoying. I don't know if this is becoming an epidemic, or if it's just remarkable luck but it seems like people are starting to do two things I find really distracting. In my opinion, these are the kind of mistakes that will discredit anyone as a writer.
