Two people intend to seek the DFL nomination for the state House seat held by Rep. Michael Beard, R-Shakopee.

Prior Lake resident Doug Zila, who ran a fierce campaign last election but was unable to unseat Beard in the last election, will try again. Zila is employed by Operating Engineers and is president of the Minnesota Transportation Alliance.

Former Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board Member Sue Bruns also announced her intention to seek the DFL nomination

Beard, who represents Shakoeee and Prior Lake in District 35A, hasn't announced whether he attends to run again.
