Library sale

The Friends of the Library Book Sale, one of three held throughout the year, will be held April 17 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and April 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Books, DVDs and VHS can also be donated in July for the August (Derby Days) book sale.

Proceeds from the book sales allow the Friends of the Library to sponsor library events that otherwise wouldn’t be available. This year we are sponsoring presentations by 12 different fiction and non-fiction authors who have written books on a wide variety of subjects.

We have seven remaining author presentations scheduled. You can call the library at (952) 233-9590 for dates, times and author subjects. The author presentations are being televised on cable Channel 15. Check the Valley News for program listings.

We also sponsor a summer reading program that is a big hit with the kids.
