FARIBAULT — Steve Sarvi is favored to win the DFL nomination for Congress Saturday at the 2nd District convention in Faribault.

Sarvi, 43, who is resigning as city administrator of Victoria next Friday, will face is Peter Idusogie, who lost the 2004 DFL nomination to Teresa Daly.

Sari and Idusogie hope to be their party’s pick to face Rep. John Kline, a Republican who was elected in 2002 and is in his third term.

Sari is an Iraq War veteran, a member of the National Guard and a former three-term mayor of Watertown.

Idusogie, 44, is a naturalized American citizen. He grew up in Africa where his father was employed by a United Nations food program. He came to the United States to attend college at Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter and is a consultant with Owens Corning in Apple Valley.
