Shakopee amusement park Valleyfair opens Saturday for a preseason weekend.

The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Next week, it will open Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will be open daily after that.

The park has more than 75 rides and attractions on 90 acres of land. More than $96 million in attractions have been added to the park since it opened in 1976. The park employs 70 year-round employees and about 1,600 seasonal employees will be hired this year.
