The 11th annual St. Francis Foundation
“Tee One for Hope” Golf Tournament will be Thursday, June 12 at Stonebrooke
Golf Club in Shakopee.
Registration for the 18-hole golf scramble begins at 8 a.m. with
a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The tournament, which attracts participants throughout
Scott and Carver counties, includes unique contests, hole activities, silent
auction, raffle drawing, and opportunities to win team and individual prizes.
The afternoon will conclude with a barbecue lunch and awards ceremony.
New this year will be the addition of the St. Francis Cancer
Center race car. Driven by champion stock car racer Gordy Swanson, the race car
will participate in the 2008 American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour
(ASA), which includes at least 14 races around the Midwest, including Raceway
Park in Shakopee, Aug. 17; Dells Raceway Park in the Wisconsin Dells, June 28;
I-94 Raceway in Sauk Center, July 5; and the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in
West Salem, Wis., Oct. 5. A special fund-raising event for the St. Francis
Cancer Center will be held Sept. 27 at Elko Speedway.
All proceeds of Tee One For Hope benefit cancer care at St.
Francis Regional Medical Center.
“We had an amazing tournament last year and we’re very excited
about the addition of the St. Francis race car. Community support and record
player turnout continues in support of our cancer center,” said Carley Stuber,
St. Francis Foundation executive director.
The foundation is accepting raffle and silent auction items for
the tournament. Corporate sponsorships are also available. Early registration
is recommended since last year’s golf event was sold out. Cost is $139 per
player, which includes a cart and lunch. For information on event sponsorship,
donating items, or to register by the June 6 deadline, contact Joan Fawcett,
St. Francis Foundation Development Officer, at 952-403-GOLF (4653) or at joan.fawcett@allina.com [2].
