Tomato, watermelon, carrot, pear and even rhubarb wine are possible. Find out how at the “Homemade Wine from the Garden” workshop set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at the Scott County Historical Society, 235 Fuller St. S. in Shakopee.
Local winemaker Clarence Johnson will share his knowledge of how to make wine at home using every produce except grapes. This workshop will demonstrate how to create unique flavorful wine from your garden’s bounty. A representative from Midwest Homebrewing and Winemaking Supplies will demonstrate the materials needed to turn your produce into sweet-tasting libations. A question-and-answer session will follow.
