Individuals, families and businesses that bought bricks for the River City Centre clock tower are invited to take ownership of those bricks due to a change in design.

When the River City Centre Apartments opened a decade ago, the community was given an opportunity to purchase bricks to help finance the clock tower at the center of the building.

Those bricks were used to form a walkway but, over the years, it has caused some maintenance issues and it was decided the bricks would be removed and replaced with a traditional sidewalk.

To continue its appreciation of those who donated, the names of those who purchased bricks will now be found on a plaque that will be posted at the site.

Anyone who wants their bricks can stop by the River City Centre and retrieve them from under the archway. The bricks will be stacked there for about a week before they are disposed of. Most of the 350 bricks sold remain intact, although a few were destroyed during the excavation.
