Carver-Scott Humane Society is getting ready to shake, rattle and roll at its sixth annual wine tasting event, Hound Dog Heaven, taking place from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 at Bayview Event Center in Excelsior.

The event heads back to the 1950s with vintage décor, DJ-provided rock ’n’ roll music and classic “diner” favorites, including assorted sliders, bite-size meatloaf on brioche, pigs in a blanket, macaroni and cheese popovers, top your own mashed potato martini bar, kettle chips with French onion dip and deep fried mini “PB & J’s on a stick.

Wines are courtesy of Aurora Wines & Spirits in Chaska. A silent auction rounds out the evening with exciting gifts donated by local businesses and friends of the animals.

Tickets are $45 in advance, $50 at the door.
