He followed that up with his second win of the day.
The 18-year-old Canchari is completing his studies online and will graduate from Shakopee High School this spring. He rode briefly this winter at Hawthorne in Chicago before heading to Oaklawn. Today’s win was his 17th career race.
His father Luis was a jockey at Canterbury in the late-1980s and his brother Patrick is riding on the East Coast. Alex expects to race this summer at Canterbury Park.
