Words are powerful things. Words, chosen carefully, and spoken by the right people, at the right time, can do amazing things. For example, a couple months ago Ridgeway International, a Minnetonka-based event-management firm (known for producing Super Bowl extravaganzas) and its contracted employee, state Rep. Michael Beard (known for, well, being a politician), came to the city with a proposal to turn the uncompleted and unoccupied ADC building into a first-of-its kind Asian (Communist China, actually) Wholesale Shopping Market.
Below are our recommendations for next Tuesday’s election. These views represent the institutional voice of the newspaper. Like many of you, we studied the issues and the candidates and made what we believe are the best choices. We are not telling voters what to do; we are only offering our view. We strongly urge you to make your own decisions and to vote next Tuesday.
