Kermes hired as interim head of educational co-op

The Carver-Scott Educational Cooperative (CSEC) in Chaska will have a familiar face taking over as executive director. Darren Kermes, director of special education for the cooperative, was hired as interim director to replace retiring executive director Randy Zitterkopf. Hot weather and flooding?

Scott County Emergency Management Director Chris Weldon took this photo of County Road 6 near Belle Plaine, which closed Friday due to flooding. (See more at our Facebook site). Scott County Public Works expects the road to re-open in one to two days. Belle Plaine Township officials also closed Oakcrest Trail from Stoppleman Boulevard to the Belle Plaine city limits on Friday due to a road washout.
Antique tractor show coming soon

The Credit River Antique Tractor Club will host a free tractor show, to include antique tractor and equipment displays, alpacas, a daily tractor parade, a blacksmith, rope making, crafts, a flea market, a swap meet and food vendors. The free show is set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 29 to 31 at Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park, 400 W. 260th St., New Prague. For more information, visit www.crtractors.com.
