In my 40 plus years on this earth, I have always known liberals (and their favorite groups) to go after and do battle with religions, especially Christianity. They bastardize the Constitution to hide all aspects of religion from being in the public arena.

There is one exception. That exception is Islam. With the recent uproar in regards to building the mosque at Ground Zero, the left of this country has stepped up to defend Islam and teh building of that mosque at Ground Zero. Now most reasonable Americans (myself included), do not object to the building of a mosque. However, like most Americans, I do not believe it should be built at Ground Zero. How about having it built a few miles away. That way, an Islamic flag of victory cannot be raised over Ground Zero.

So, that leads me to ask the obvious question. Why does the left go to bat for Islam while sneering and snickering about other faiths? Because it seems that the left, who claim to be a champion of womens rights and gay rights, would be sounding alarm bells about what Islam says about gays, and how Islam allows for men to treat women. And you think the left would be sounding alarm bells about how Islam wants to implement Sharia Law wherever Muslims may live. Afterall, Sharia Law allows for honor killings and allows for the men folk to beat the women folk if the women folk do something wrong in the eyes of Sharia Law. That is why i am confused.

Here is a possible answer. Could it be that Islam is a religion that is anti-American. And this anti American attitude appeals to the left? A religion that pokes the eyes of America after flipping it "the bird". One can only wonder.

I agree, Pat and I will abide by your request. I will no longer make comments about this very valid topic I started. Time to move on to new topics.

equal, I have forgotten more about Constitutional law than you will ever know. Of course, youu don't have the cognitive ability to comprehend that one sentence I wrote. I will sum it up in easier, 7th grade level terms, just for you equal. You aren't smart and you make stuff up as you go.

Again, no where did I say the military should not enforce teh military code of conduct. Is it me, or are liberals the most uneducated bunch of people around? Did you pass reading comprehension in school? Either you and created equal don't read posts, or you are illiterate. One more time only a little slower for turbo....no, never mind, he still won't get what I am writing.

I never stated they have a right to proselytize. My main point is teh government seizing private property and burning the word of God is more terrifying to me that some nutjob private citizen burning a Koran. Why not return the Bibles to where they came from-easy enough. Don't put words in my mouth. Again, i say, read the constitution.

Hello Pat. You're two weeks late with your posting. Read Vic's original blog and you'll see why this is happening.

Hi Turbo; I know they can't take personal bibles, and ones used in Church service at a field Chapel, but they can take the ones where the intent is to distribute to locals.

Christians do not believe that the physical book "The Bible" is Holy, it is the word which is God Breathe, not the book. Muslims believe that their physical book or "Quron" is holy. It is their believe and it should be respected as any other religion should.

It is crazy to burn the Quron as a symbol, but it is crazier to kill someone over it.

When you proselytize (Big word for Big Phish)in other countries, it is done at your own resk, just like any missionary.

Which is why the military took the Bibles away. They will not let one soldier put other soliders at risk. So in some situations Constitutional rights will be limited or changed, especially when the soliders are on foreign soil.

You've read my reply wrong, or incompletely, as well as this whole topic thread. If you read it again, you'll see that I am not placing claim on determining which religion is "better" by how committed they are. I am replying to someone elses post.

What I said is true, and I don't care if you believe me. It's not important.

Created Equal: It's the first one in the Constitution. " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging Freedom of speech. Military members fall under a different set of rules, or code of conduct, but they are still protected by the Constitution. When you proselytize (Big word for Big Phish)in other countries, it is done at your own resk, just like any missionary.

See Ya

Let's keep things polite.

We welcome debate on this website, but lately things seem to be getting rather nasty. I've seen some great arguments and responses on a variety of topics, and I think that's beneficial as we try to sort through the many issues our nation, state and local community face.

But I think at times we are reaching the point of bloodletting, which serves to diminish the arguments as readers focus on personal attacks.

Play nice. :)

Created Equal:

What have you added to the topic? Nothing but argument! I have looked back in the blog and it is all hate. I have to go back to the beginning of the blog to see if you added anything to the topic.

See Ya

Hi Starfulknight:

I am a Christian and I was a youth leader and played in Church worship services and believe me, I spend a lot of time asking for forgiveness.

What does the amount of prayer have to do with anything!!! So, with your statement, Christians who are talking with God 6 or more times a day, are better then Muslims. Give me a break!

You're a professed Word Spreading Scholar... tell me the difference from the way Christian's do it and the way it is done my Islamist's.

Ilook forward to reading your comments.

Hey Ducky,

Just because I happen to agree with another individuals opinion, does not mean that it is the same person. If you think about it, there might be a few conservatives in the Shakopee area. Created Equal, not Created Liberal!!! How is my argument Bigoted? When you start name calling you have lost sight of the topic and you have made it personal. Use facts and not emotions. That's the difference between a Conservative argument(Fact Based), and a Liberal argument(feelings or emotion based). Look forward to read your next comment!

It's pointless to argue with someone who can't see that SVN comments have a time and date stamp.

Especially when she has no opinions of her own.

Why are you so concerned about vic?

He's taken a well-deserved flogging here because he continues to provide proof that he's a bigot. So much so that he was forced to create make-believe friends, and call in his lap dog, to support his ridiculous contentions.

Have you ever known vic to provide a factual basis for any of his allegations? He just can't handle it when I challenge him.
