The Cat in the Hat, Shakopee police officers, Shakopee royalty, Firefighter Tom, McGruff the Crime Dog and many other notables helped celebrate reading at the Shakopee Rotary's annual event Tuesday. First-graders from across the district, including Shakopee Area Catholic School and Living Hope, attended the Celebrate Reading event at the high school. Each left with his or her own book.
